Is this application patented?
Yes, LifeSavingAdvice™ has been successfully filed and received patent pending status in the United States and in 190 other countries around the globe under the Paris Convention Treaty. As was learned at the advent of the Internet, securing intellectual property with respect to technological applications addressing universal needs has proven to be enormously valuable in the service they provide, especially when it pertains to life saving advice. Who doesn’t recall the highly publicized Blackberry litigation that resisted attempts to breach their mobile device email patent a few years back.
Who are LSA’s competitors?
There was no competition at the initial stages of the patent filing several years back, as determined in our comprehensive global search. Since then, a few firms have developed the ability to broacast first aid advice and disaster notificaitons. However, only LSA has secured patent pending protection for the embedding of of life saving advice into the memory of a mobile device; therefore it doesn’t require connectivity to access the information.
How will LSA be distributed?
We’ve identified several avenues that will maximize our distribution efforts worldwide. First, we intend to license various countries and then find unique channels within each market to serve the needs of that particular population. With so many needs and variations to the content we intend to provide, we will be constantly looking for new ways to satisfy the emergency needs and alerts of those around the world.
Will LSA work on all cell phones?
Our goal is to have this critical content available on every cell phone worldwide, but today, while we're in beta test mode, there is only a handful it can accommodate. As we commence with the licensing of the various countries and identify the numerous emergency needs we’ll continue to expand the number of phones this mobile application can operate on, until every cell phone in every country is covered.
What is the source of LSA’s content?
First aid content is in the public domain, which allows us to publish and distribute without infringement. In addition we only reference and advise, in contrast to prescribe. All our content is medically expectable, standard procedures and practices.
Is LSA customizable?
Yes, LSA is completely customizable based on the various market needs we intend to satisfy. From youth sports to the military, hiking or on the open seas, LSA will offer custom features to satisfy every need.
Why does LSA provide Body, Mind, Heart and Soul components?
LifeSavingAdvice™ was created to offer a comprehensive training and assistance solution to emergency situations. The Body component addresses the question, "Are you fit for an emergency." You can be trained in the latest, greatest instruction and fully equipped, but unless you can physically perform the task at hand you’ll be rendered useless. Getting in shape to faces the unexpected is the best excuse yet for improving your physical conditioning.
The Mind pertains to readiness, emergency plans and procedures. These are designed to support the element of first aid and give guidance for individuals, families and businesses alike.
The Heart is the first aid information component, embed into the memory of the phone for uninterrupted access when seconds count. If all we offered was broadcast available informaiton like our competition, we would be rendered useless whenever service was knocked out or you found yourself out of the service area. Even more frustrating, broadcast is useless when you receive the recorded message ‘all circuits are busy please try your call again’.
The Soul is "faith added to first aid" for the first time. We reviewed 9-1-1 transcripts from calls made during Katrina, Columbine, Soga Mine, September 11th and other emergencies to find a common thread. We did and it was faith...God. Whenever people find themselves in a desperate situation they inevitably cry out to God for deliverance. We included this in our comprehensive offering so we could offer hope in the midst of despair.
What liability does someone have as a bystander when they come to the aid of another in need?
The issue of liability for those who come to the aid of others is addressed in the Good Samaritan Law. This is both a national and international law that in some countries requires bystanders to administer aid to those in need or suffer legal consequences. Our goal is to offer the full scope of life saving advice through the most convenient source of reference, the cell phone, and in so doing give confidence to those when administering aid to others.
Are there sponsorship opportunities available with LSA?
Yes. We intend to offer a wide range of sponsorships that will aid us in the distribution of this vital information through various networks, and in return offer unprecedented visibility and promotion on mobile device screens.
When will LSA be available to download in my area?
A demo of the application is available now if you are downloading to one of the current beta test phones, Motorola V3i and other comparable models. This list of phones and the various translations will be posted on the site as they become available. Contact us for more information.
What will LSA cost?
As it now stands, we’ll offer a one time download fee of $2.99 (subject to change), with other options to follow. With the extended offering of vital content in every area of emergency situations additional offerings will be added in the same manner as we add models of phones.
What are LSA's proposed expansion plans?
LifeSavingAdvice™ intends to license our patent pending mobile application throughout the world. Because this simple, yet critical mobile application is universal in nature, we expect the international licensing to be swift as we move to embed this need to know information onto cell phonse around the globe. |
